Lyrics

Don't Drink The Water

Some things in life are considered priceless
Oxygen, the air we breathe
We've seen a lot of changes over the years
And been chemically altered 'til we're drugged up to our ears
In this world of new technology
Nothing seems to happen naturally

As all our waste is decomposing
What oozes out , that we can't see?
Maybe it's best that we don't know
If somethings leaching out right beneath our very homes
All those years of apathy
Now we can't see through the woods cos there's no trees

Chorus:

Don't drink the water, cos it's not free
Just advertised as clean
What use are filters, if all the streams
Contaminate atomically
You'll be the one that's left behind
All hollowed out inside
And bobbing in the tide

So desperate for solutions
Before we all dissolve ourselves
We've cooked ourselves a recipe for disaster
And adding more ingredients won't make it taste no better
Why worry about what we can't see?
If ignorance is bliss we're all happy

Look forward to the future
On holiday, swim in the sea
You don't have to be all doom and gloom
At a vision of the future that may or may not come true
You might not want convincing of the probability
But you children may look at it differently

No TIme Like The Present

So now, we've had our fun
We can count the cost of all that's gone
This never was a trial run
So let's take a look at what we've done

All things being equal, looks like we've had our day
We've taken our resources, and watched them drain away

We'll justify with reasons we've never understood
Why fuel our greed with subsidies
Then throw away the food
And as we watch the sun go down, we'll sit and wonder why
All our new horizons, are fading with the light

Chorus:

But we can't back down, and we won't walk away
So don't pretend, that it doesn't matter anyway
The time is now, to stand and stay
But we don't like change, so we'll try again another day

We all know where we're heading, if changes don't arise
But we'll complicate the arguments, get caught out by surprise
We're not content with what we've got, if it means compromise
So we'll stumble boldly onwards, with blinkers on our eyes

But we can't back down, and we won't walk away
So don't pretend, that it doesn't matter anyway
The time is now, to stand and stay
But we don't like change, so we'll try again another day

When we're not too busy fighting or developing the land, we take it as for granted that above it we will stand
We'll increase the emissions from the fuel that we deplete, and we'll infiltrate the water with the minerals we leach
We respond to calls for cut backs with a look of disbelief,
as we're all under the power of the global industry
Wanting cash incentives to increase efficiency, we say we
want to change the world but what's in it for me?

Resolution

So once again, in your defence
You're lost for words and afraid to speak
But do you sit on the fence, building confidence
or hide away and accept defeat?

But what's that buzzing in your mind
Your legs won't walk away this time
You feel the anger rising in your veins
Where before you would shut up
Now the urge is to put up
From now on you won't ever be the same

What made you turn around and show your other side
Was it a push or just a new found sense of pride?

Chorus:

Cos you were never meant to be a victim
So don't let anyone walk over you this time
You've got to stand your ground with more conviction
Don't let anyone walk over you this time....NOW

So ignore the fools, where backstabbing rules
And viscious taunts are all the rage
To rearrange and makes things change
Takes much more than words can ever say

But what's that buzzing in your mind
Your legs won't walk away this time
You feel the anger rising in your veins
Where before you would shut up
Now the urge is to put up
From now on you won't ever be the same

What made you turn around and show your other side
Was it a push or just a new found sense of pride?

Cos you were never meant to be a victim
So don't let anyone walk over you this time
You've got to stand your ground with more conviction
Don't let anyone walk over you this time....NOW

This Is Life

If history could ever be repeated
Everyone has something they would change
Like the hole that we've been digging any deeper
That takes much more time to fill back in again

So this is life, can't even try to understand
When we fall down, there's no one to take our hand
No magic words, to stop the clock and take a break
No happy endings, for the moment anyway

In this crazy game of chinese whispers
We must communicate or be cut off
But it's hard when someone's taking your opinions
If when having changed them round they pass them on

So this is life, can't even try to understand
When we fall down, there's no one to take our hand
No magic words, to stop the clock and take a break
No happy endings, for the moment anyway

Chorus:

It feels like someone's let you down
When everything gets turned around
Can't make sense of what when on
Trying to explain it with a song
We don't always need a reason
For turning out this way
But when the shoutings done
There's always something to say

They say that there's two sides to every story
And a page is never finished 'til it's filled
Bit if this story is to have a happy ending
Sometimes we must destroy so we can build

So this is life, w carry on
We don't know where we stand
But what can we expect because....

It feels like someone's let you down
When everything gets truned around
Can't make sense of what when on
Trying to explain it with a song
We don't always need a reason
For turning out this way
But when the shoutings done
There's always something to say

Waiting For The Sunrise

If we still see snow, when spring takes hold
And the ice still flows, through constant cold
The sun won't set, if it can't rise
Does it make us sweat, as we fantasise?

Have we forgotten there's a finger on the button
And it wants something to do
We've been taken in by our home grown spin
And the policies push through

We've seen before, what we can do
Have we lost the right, to think things through?

Chorus:

We're waiting for the sunrise, a mile above the ground
One last thought of the good times, and then we all fall down
We've used up all our lifelines, we'd like to stick around
Look forward to more good times, but still we all fall down

On any day, at any time
If it won't touch us, then we don't mind
But someone somewhere, could start the show
That by denial, we've all condoned

Cos the sell by date in the weapons store
That we thought we'd never use
Will soon expire if they don't get fired
So the policies push through
